My first project prompt was to create a mobile app prototype for a restaurant, a booking platform to be exact. This was my first project under a UX Design Course hosted by Google.

The project took me 5 months to complete. It involved a 5-step design process with a user-centric approach, these are Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, & Test.

User Research has been done at first to empathize and define what users / potential clients need. I have done a qualitative interview which resulted in the creation of user stories and model a user journey map - making a booking until getting into the restaurant.

The course introduced me to some design sprint tasks such as Crazy Eights and Sketching idea solutions, which was helpful in the Ideation stage of the whole design process.

Afterwhich, I made some wireframes to start prototyping the app. Wireframe sketches was initially done, which was turned to digital lo-fidelity prototype with the use of Figma. I tested it with users and iterated the design by consulting with their feedback. By then, I was prepared to make a high-fidelity prototype and re-tested with users and iterated it one more time.

Design Stage

The user flow of the system is presented in this picture. It starts of with a home/landing page. The app has a navigation menu where users can easily go from looking at the menu, booking a table, and checking their reservation.
